Solid-state hydrogen storage engineered for low-pressure safety, compact footprint, and high volumetric density.

From laboratory canisters to containerised industrial systems.

Metal hydride hydrogen storage

Metal hydride storage suits applications where low-pressure operation, compact footprint, and high volumetric density matter more than high-pressure throughput. It supports laboratory instrumentation, pilot systems, backup power, and industrial processes where a lower-pressure alternative to high-pressure cylinders is required.

Metal hydride tanks can also be thermally integrated with fuel cells, utilizing waste heat to drive hydrogen desorption and improve overall system efficiency. The tanks can operate as standalone units or be seamlessly integrated with electrolysers for on-site hydrogen generation and supply.

Controlled hydrogen delivery at low pressure for enhanced safety and system simplicity

Low-pressure hydrogen charging depending on the selected alloy and configuration

Metal hydrides store hydrogen in solid form by reversibly absorbing H2 into a metal alloy. This enables storage at low pressure with stable and repeatable absorption and desorption cycles near ambient temperature.

The pressure and temperature behaviour is determined by the intrinsic thermodynamic properties of the alloy. These define the equilibrium pressure characteristics of the system and can be tailored through alloy design to match specific operating requirements.

Low-pressure operation compared to high-pressure cylinders
High volumetric hydrogen density in a compact footprint
Stable and repeatable hydrogen absorption and desorption cycles
Alloy composition tailored to match specific duty cycles and operating envelopes
No moving parts, minimal maintenance over the product lifetime
